AXMINSTER has been hit by a spate of burglaries in recent weeks.

AXMINSTER has been hit by a spate of burglaries in recent weeks.

Police said Karen's Hair Fashions, in Victoria Place was broken into between May 26 and 27. A house in North Street, and the United Reformed church in Chard Street, were broken into on Tuesday night (June 1).

There was also an attempted burglary at Cloakham Lawn, but an alarm was set off and suspected offenders were seen running from the scene on May 26.

Electrical goods were taken, but items from the property in North Street have been recovered.

A man has been charged on suspicion of burglary and is due to appear in court in the near future.
