POLICE are warning Northleigh residents to be vigilant following a spate of burglaries to out buildings.

Goods worth thousands of pounds have been stolen from five properties between June 1 and 3.

All bar one of the incidents took place at around 11pm on June 1 or 2.

Stolen items include lawn mowers, outboard engines, cultivators, strimmers and a JCB petrol breaker. Police have offered alarms to the victims of the thefts.

A police spokesman said: "People should be aware of suspicious vehicles, especially larger ones, and not their registration number and call 999.
