Why the vessel went under is ‘a bit of a mystery’ says Harbourmaster

A speedboat sank at its moorings in Lyme Regis Harbour this morning (Thursday, June 23).

It was spotted going under by deputy harbourmaster Mike Higgs.

The harbourmaster’s team eventually managed to hoist the 17ft vessel out of the water.

The owner, Richard Clist, said there was no obvious damage to the boat.

Harbourmaster Grahame Forshaw said it was a bit of a mystery.
