Staff at Axminster biggest firm got in festive mood last wek and raised money for a worthy cause.

Axminster Tools and Machinery held a Christmas Jumper Day and members of staff were encouraged to wear a seasonal item of clothing to work.

Many entered into the Christmas spirit and came to work in colourful jumpers, shirts and headgear, paying £1 each for the privilege of doing so.

All the money raised will be donated to the Seaton and District Hospital League of Friends, which has been the company’s chosen charity throughout 2018.

Over the last 12 months Axminster staff members have raised more than £2,400 for the charity through organising various events. Top fundraisers included a golf match, a raffle of products donated by some of the company’s suppliers, the warehouse Christmas quiz and donations from individuals.

* Axminster Tools and Machinery have supported a number of different local and national charities in the past, including HALFF (Health and Local Food for Families), British Heart Foundation, Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF) and Hospiscare.
