A Honiton charity says it has been running under-fire for the last three weeks amid a staffing crisis.

Neil Hurlock, manager of TRIP, says its New Street-based office desperately needs cover for every day of the week to help alleviate the pressures facing his current staffing roster.

He is hoping people can come in on a voluntary basis to help with admin work and speak to users of the service.

Mr Hurlock said: “It has been up to me to cover shifts, which would have three members of staff, on my own.

“It has been rather hectic.”

Mr Hurlock said some staff are due back from holiday, which has reduced the short-term strain facing the office, but says a solution needs to be found long-term.

He added: “If you like talking to people and being part of a team that reduces isolation for older people, please get in touch.”
