Coffee giant has announced another new roadside cafe will open near Honiton - bringing 15 new jobs with it.

The roadside restaurant will open in place of the Little Chef on the A30, near Monkton.

A spokeswoman for the company said: “We are excited to announce that we’ll be opening a new Starbucks store in partnership with Euro Garages on the A30 Honiton which will create up to 15 local jobs.

“The new store will be open at the end of June, and we look forward to bringing our great quality coffee to customers looking for a break from their journey.”

As previously reported by the Herald, Starbucks confirmed it will open a new roadside restaurant on the A35 this year.

The chain will be taking over the unit formerly run by Little Chef, near Shute, with a summer opening anticipated.

The announcement was heralded by Shute’s district and county councillor Iain Chubb.

Mr Chubb said: “It’s a good place for travellers to stop.

“Starbucks is a well-known brand and people know what quality they are going to get when they go there.”

Mr Chubb said the disused Little Chef restaurant on the A35 was an unattractive sight for motorists, adding: “It is good to see it re-opening under a recognised brand.”
