Honiton Community College students impress the judges at the annual Youth Music Presents.

Honiton Community College students hit the right notes during the annual Youth Music Presents hosted by the Rotary Club of Otter Valley.

Year 10 student Joe Binmore won an award in the vocal section, in the local stage of the competition, which was held at King’s School, Ottery St Mary.

He impressed the judges with his tuning and control when he sang It’s a Dangerous Game from the musical, Jekyll and Hyde.

Beth Sillitoe, a Year 13, student also received a judges’ award for her performance of All is Fair in Love.

Lewis Holdsworth also made a good contribution to the competition accompanied by Dean Guest in a performance of Better Together by Jack Johnson.

Joe will now progress to the Devon regional heat of the competition.

Schools from across East Devon took part in the event including students from Colyton Grammar School.
