In Seaton shopping becomes a welcome activity instead of a dread. Here I can walk to every shop and I am greeted as a customer. Although the many locally-owned shops have a limited variety of goods, there is a choice of shops and the service is excellent. Many times the experience is enhanced by interesting conversations with other shoppers or the shop owners. Such experiences are usually limited to those who are retired or on holiday and it is difficult to duplicate in Tesco. I hope that next year, when I visit again, I will find that the currently proposed Tesco project has been replaced with a plan which will better support (instead of choke) the local businesses and also the visitors.
