Sun shines for ploughing match

THE weather was a bonus for organisers of the Sidmouth Junction Ploughing Match. Glorious sunshine greeted a good number of participants and spectators at Colesworthy Farm, in Feniton, last weekend.

THE weather was a bonus for organisers of the Sidmouth Junction Ploughing Match.Glorious sunshine greeted a good number of participants and spectators at Colesworthy Farm, in Feniton, last weekend.The annual event went ahead, with good field conditions.Organisers told the Herald that many similar events have had to be cancelled this year, because of wet weather."It was very successful and the weather was a real bonus," said an event spokeswoman.The ploughing match was held on land farmed by Colin and Christine Gibbins.Mrs Gibbins was the event's president.
