Action-woman Charlotte Venn is gearing up for another fundraising challenge.

Following her recent skydive in aid of two worthy causes, the Kilmington-based fitness instructor is now in training for the Virgin London Marathon which takes place next month.

Charlotte, who ran the Barcelona marathon in 2004, is hoping to raise £1,000 in sponsorship by taking part.

She plans to donate 30 per cent of this to Kilmington Primary School to help with their plans to buy an outdoor clock and also provide other outdoor equipment for the pupils.

The remainder of the cash will go to the Devon Air Ambulance Trust.

Previously, Charlotte, 37, owner of a mobile hairdressing business – La Chique – has taken part in a tandem skydive to raise money for Kilmington Pre-school.

It also raised money for the Tearfund water and sanitation project in Zambia, which has been supported by the church in Uplyme.

Local residents can support her latest venture by signing sponsorship forms which are being made available both in the village shop at Kilmington and at Miller’s Farm shop, just of the A35.

Charlotte has also set up a just giving page where people can log on to support her and make donations. It can be found at https://www.justgiving.com/Lottie-Venn
