HONITON Wine Bar customer Sandy McVicar got an unexpected birthday treat when called in for his usual morning coffee.

HONITON Wine Bar customer Sandy McVicar got an unexpected birthday treat when called in for his usual morning coffee.Regulars had organised a big surprise - a flight in a bi-plane. He was whisked off to Dunkeswell Air Centre in a classic 1936 Austin Ascot, owned by fellow regular Steve Brownridge. Family members and other wine bar regulars were waiting to greet him.Mr McVicar, who was celebrating his 80th birthday, then took to the skies.After his flight, he returned to the wine bar where a party was held.The surprise was organised after he was overheard saying he'd like to fly in a bi-plane.
