Firefighters from three towns attend the scene at Boxfield Road

Three fire appliances from Axminster, Chard and Colyton were mobilised to reports of a gas leak at Boxfield Road, in Axminster today (Sunday, August 16).

On arrival, crews got to work setting up safe systems of operation and a covering jet awaiting the arrival of the gas detector from Colyton.

Crews isolated the gas whilst wearing two breathing apparatus sets but no gas readings were found on the detector.

The fire crews awaited the arrival of the gas board before leaving the scene.
