Axminster guest house hosts martial arts celebration
The riverside garden at Weycroft Bed and Breakfast, near Axminster, again provided a picturesque and tranquil setting for local celebrations of World Tai Chi Day.
Some 25 people went along to learn and practise the ancient Chinese martial art form at the event, which was hosted by Allan Howlings and his partner Margaret Marciniak, who provided some delicious homemade cakes and also served tea and coffee.
Around £90 was raised during the day for Axminster Tourist Information Centre, which relies on local funding. Several people expressed a desire to continue to practice tai chi.
