There was a happy ending when a Northleigh teenager took part in a prestigious national short story competition.

Tallie Blanshard, a 15-year-old Colyton Grammar School student, finished runner-up in the Reader’s Digest 100-word story contest with her tale called Trapped.

“I just entered for fun,” Tallie said when talking about the success of Trapped. “As for the other stories, I thought they were both really good,” she added.
