Tash's Trip passes half-way mark

THE Herald's campaign to raise £4,000 to send Axminster cancer victim Tash Gould on a holiday to Australia has reached the half way mark in less than three weeks.

THE Herald's campaign to raise £4,000 to send Axminster cancer victim Tash Gould on a holiday to Australia has reached the half way mark - in less than three weeks.Tash's mum, Claire, and Herald staff were today (Friday) moved to tears when a cheque arrived at our Exeter offices for £1,000.Tash is penning a 'thank you' letter as this story is being typed.The donation is from an individual Herald reader, who wishes to remain anonymous.Please accept our sincere thanks.On editor Belinda Bennett's desk was a further cheque, for £250, from the Rotary Club of Axminster.Club president John Brennan said in an accompanying letter: "Axminster Rotarians have been very impressed by Tash's tenacity and courage in dealing with her problems."We trust she enjoys a marvellous holiday and wish her all the very best for the future."Further donations, totalling £60, have also been received today, bringing the total raised so far to just over £2,000.
