Axe Valley Community College students give staff the wet sponge treatment to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust
Youngsters at Axminster had a splashing time soaking their teachers – and helping a worthy cause
The fun event at The Axe Valley Community College was organised by Year 10 student Lydia Hartnell, to raise money for The Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
She chose the charity because her younger brother Quentin suffers from the condition.
Lydia enlisted the help of several friends to run the “soak the teacher” and cake sale, during the lunch break. They included Bethany Hill, Freya Robley, Emily Badder, Alice Cann, Eve Hardwick, Ethan Hulme, Charley Ovendon, Britney Macklin, Chelsea Dack and Amber Snell .
Afterwards she tanked head teacher Martin Smith and his five colleagues who agreed to offer themselves up as “victims” for the water throwers, along with all those who took along cakes and made donations.
She said: “It was a great deal of fun and we raised an impressive £146.60 during the lunch hour.”
She added her thanks to all her friends for helping to make the event such a success.
