Pupils learn about the gulf between rich and poor
THE extremes of wealth and poverty were highlighted in a talk to pupils at Lyme’s Woodroffe School.
Speaker Peter Hills, from the charity Tearfund, has spent 30 years working as a teacher in Africa, including Uganda, Kenya and Malawi.
He was able to draw on his own experiences and anecdotes to enrich and enliven a complex and urgent issue.
Students agreed the talk was fascinating, absorbing and challenging.
