Honiton’s Joe Gilson Mobility Scheme has given away its 108th mobility aid to someone in need.
Teresa Sturrock, from Exeter, had been trapped inside for three years after a flesh-eating bug destroyed her leg. She only went out when she could receive assistance.
She said: “No-one will know what this scooter means to me. I will be able to go and meet my daughter and go out and see the sun.”
The scooter was presented to Teresa by scheme founder Carol Gilson. The vehicle was donated by the family of Harry and Kass Page.
