A HONITON supermarket worker has beaten a world record - by scanning and packing 50 items in an incredible two minutes and 22 seconds.Ang Couch, who lives in Honiton, works for Tesco in the town and was one of six of the supermarket's employees from around the country to take part in the challenge.The event was held at Tesco in Bracknell, near London, on Sunday, March 22, and was witnessed by celebrities.Mrs Couch, now a world champion, performed her checkout task head-to-head against television presenters, including Steve Jones from T4.The two fastest scanners battled it out to beat the previous world record - three minutes and 30 seconds.After clinching the world record, Mrs Couch was presented with a gold medal and certificate.She also got to meet celebrities and have her picture taken with them.
