Tesco in Honiton has helped the Commonwealth War Graves Commission by cleaning a historic site at St Michael’s Church in Honiton.

Duncan Sheridan-Shaw, Honiton Tesco’s community manager, said: “A few months ago, we were asked by the commission if we would be able to help clear the graves of six veterans to mark the anniversary of World War One, giving people an opportunity to appreciate and view the site in its former glory.”

A small team, led by trading manager Debbie Stuart, tackled the brambles and weeds. The team was joined by the littlest member of the Tesco Honiton team – Harvey Ball.

Duncan added: “We are very proud to be able to help our community. We believe that this is a example of what our team and colleagues are willing to volunteer for in the name of their local community.”
