May I, through your paper, bring to the attention of your readers the "Rotten Egg Award" given to Tesco from Compassion in World Farming for their continued support of purchasing eggs from battery-caged hens?If Tesco were to follow the example of many other leading supermarkets, a total of 1.3 million hens could be saved from a life of misery each year.Perhaps Tesco should show a little compassion instead of following the relentless path to greed.Maureen StonehamTower Way Dunkeswell
