ONCE again, Seaton is in the firing line, this time from Devon County Council who propose to instal parking meters all over our town.

Apart from the problem for local people, visiting nurses, doctors, delivery people, etc, it would be the absolute last straw for Seaton to attract tourists to our town.

If DCC want to try out their idea, why don't they inflict it on Sidmouth? They are usually first in line for everything.

As for EDDC, if they had listened to the majority of Seatonians and granted Sainsbury's the right to come here instead of Tesco (who are doing their damndest to get into every town in the South West and ride roughshod over everyone, flashing their money around to do it), there wouldn't be all the problems now regarding landfill, lorries, sea access, etc.

If money had been spent instead to renovate and modernise the holiday camp, we would still have had a swimming pool and gymnasium and accommodation for visitors, some of whom came year after year.

Thanks DCC and EDDC, for nothing!
