SEATON and Beer Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) District Branch has raised over £1,000 in its annual street collections.

SEATON and Beer Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) District Branch has raised over £1,000 in its annual street collections.The branch raised £237 in Beer, £705 in Seaton and £156 in Colyton. The Beer Lifeboat Week raised £473 in its third annual Duck Races down Beer Brook.The branch wishes to thank all residents and visitors who gave so generously, and numerous businesses who sponsored them.Branch secretary Wendy Cummins said: "Due to the generosity of the businesses in Beer, each heat in the duck races won a prize."A special thank you is also extended to Axe Yacht Club, who, at their Open Weekend on August 24 and 25, raised a record of £768 from the sale of RNLI gifts and souvenirs - plus a further £1,492 from the catering and other stalls."The branch is also appealing for storage facilities for its fundraising equipment and RNLI sales products.
