THE Met Office has issued a severe weather warning as Britain s worst storm of 2009 peaks. Gusts of wind of 60mph have been recorded in Exeter and gusts elsewhere are said to hit 70mph in the next few hours.

Motorists are warned to exercise extreme caution on roads, as trees and branches are brought down.
