THE British Red Cross charity shop in Seaton has expressed thanks to its staff and customers after the organisation raised over £5 million towards good causes nationwide last year.Julie Nield, assistant shop manager, said: "None of this would have been possible if it wasn't for our customers' support."We would also like to thank our dedicated and committed volunteers for their continued hard work over the last 12 months."Please continue to help us to help people both here in this country and also around the world."In 2007 the British Red Cross raised over £4.9 million towards the national floods appeal, £665,000 towards the Asia floods appeal and £290,000 towards the African floods appeal.
