The Rotary Club of Seaton raises thousands of pounds for Haiti appeal
THE Rotary Club of Seaton raised �4,000 in aid of the Haiti earthquake victims -donating eight ShelterBoxes to the appeal.
THE Rotary Club of Seaton raised �4,000 in aid of the Haiti earthquake victims -donating eight ShelterBoxes to the appeal.
The club has thanked residents for the generosity and gave special mention to Alan West's gig at the Dolphin Hotel, in Beer, which raised.�680.
Member Douglas Smith said: "Sadly, ShelterBox's work is not finished. Its emergency team has now had to fly into Chile, where over 700 people have been killed in the earthquake and goodness know how many are homeless.
"It is hard to ask people, who have already dug so deep into their pockets, but I now hope we might yet fund another two boxes, this time for Chile."
