Be in with a chance to win your own knitted Prince William and Kate Middleton.

A PENSIONER from Honiton has brought Prince William and Kate Middleton to town - to raise money for TRIP Community Transport Association.

Enid Phillips, a resident of Homelace House, was inspired to knit her own royal wedding couple after reading an article in The Daily Mail advertising knitting patterns to create your own royal wedding scene.

“I was inspired by an article advertising knitting patterns I saw in the newspaper and thought I could do better than that,” said Mrs Phillips.

It took the 84-year-old a week to knit the couple with only her imagination to go on, as she did it without a pattern to follow.

“I have no idea what she is going to be wearing on the day so I thought I ought to do something like she is going to a ball,” she added.

The knitted Prince William and Kate Middleton will be auctioned off on May 6 to raise money for TRIP.

“TRIP is very good to us and we all felt the money should go to them,” she said.

But Mrs Phillips admits she does not plan on making any more knitted royals to complete the family line-up and plans to watch the celebrations on television.

“I shall be glued to the television watching the royal wedding,” she told The Midweek Herald.
