My wife and I were enjoying a very pleasant walk in Branscombe recently and, passing the village hall, we were aware of someone running up behind us. How distressing to find it was a young lad, about 12 years old, asking if we had seen anyone on a blue bike. It would appear he had gone into the playing field for a short while leaving his brand new blue Giant bike at the entrance. In that short time some callous person had stolen it, possibly putting it in their vehicle - the car park being at the back of the hall by the playing field entrance. We could only wonder at how that poor lad was going to tell his folks when he got home without his new bike. We doubt the guilty party will see this letter, nor see this poor lad in tears. What a pity we live in such a society .Mr and Mrs M C ClarkeChurston Rise Seaton
