Window severely damaged during attempted break-in at Tool Centre’s Millwey Rise HQ - police appeal for witnesses

Police are investigating an attempted burglary at Axminster Power Tools over the weekend.

Some time between midnight on Saturday (April 27) and 6am today (Monday April 29) an attempt was made to gain entry to the firm’s headquarters on the Millwey Rise industrial estate.

A window was severely damaged during the failed bid to get inside the building.

Police are appealing for witnesses and if anyone saw anything suspicious during the relevant times they are asked to contact officers on 101 quoting crime reference KA/13/223.

Meanwhile Axminster neighbourhood beat Manager PC Simon Rodgers would like to make all local businesses aware of the need to make sure that whilst premises are left unattended they have adequate security measures in place and any CCTV systems are checked to be in full working order. Owners should not hesitate to contact police if they notice any suspicious activity on 101 or 999 if it is an emergency, he added.
