Ride on mower stolen from Charmouth Road property next door to where villains stole £1,000 heating oil the day before
Thieves are thought to have returned to the scene of an earlier crime to steal a ride-on mower from a property at Axminster.
The machine – with a replacement value of around £3,000 – was taken from the garage of a detached house in Charmouth Road, at Raymond’s Hill, late last week.
Around 24 hours earlier some £1,000 worth of domestic heating fuel was stolen from a tank outside the neighbouring property.
The mower owner Nigel Proctor said: “I got up this morning (Friday) and noticed the garage doors were undone and went to have a look and my nice mower had disappeared. It was 20 years old but had recently been restored to new.”
The mower is red and made by Westwood.
Police want to hear form anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area. They should call them on 101, quoting reference KA12/597.
