Thought for the Week

Better to mend and care for your relationships.
I had a family wedding at the weekend, which meant travelling up to Wiltshire and seeing members of the family – some of whom I hadn’t seen for years.
It was an enjoyable opportunity to catch up, to share some memories and restart some relationships.
I did realise from conversations just how many regrets so many of us have about not keeping in touch, about ‘only ever meeting up at weddings and funerals’ and about how easy it is to neglect our friendships and even our family.
The Bible says, right at the beginning, ‘it is not good for man to be alone’ when the story tells us that Eve and Adam were made as companions together and soon grew into a family.
And, rather than regrets, it is better to mend and care for our relationships and to make the most of all the times we have together.
