Say thanks and be grateful.

I have met lots of people lately who read this Thought for the Week and who, when they meet me, kindly say thank you for what I write.

Well, thank you to all of you, it’s very encouraging to hear what you think, usually. Thank you is an underrated phrase, an important phrase and a phrase very much in our minds in the church at this time of year.

At this time of Harvest Thanksgiving, we give thanks to God for all that he has given us and the plenty we enjoy.

We give thanks to those who have worked hard for our harvest; farmers, fishermen, gardeners and growers, those who make and distribute the produce we need and that makes us comfortable.

But ‘giving thanks’ is not just about saying thank you, it is also about being grateful for what we have and are willing to share with those in need.
