Thought for the Week

One of the good things about travelling around the lanes of East Devon, apart from the stunning views and beautiful countryside, is that I get to listen to sermons on my iPod.
You may not think of that as a treat at all but as the only sermons I get to hear most of the time are my own, hearing what someone else has to say is something I appreciate.
I don’t always agree with what’s said; sometimes I hear something exciting and challenging, sometimes reassuring, but I do always have to think about what I hear.
It’s easy to get into a rut, listen only to things we want to, do things only the way we want, but if we do that we don’t learn or grow – if we wrap ourselves up in ‘bubbles of belief’ perhaps even God finds it hard to get through to us.
