Thought for the week.

Thought for the week.

Archant

I got back from my holidays last week. It was lovely and sunny in the bit of France we stayed in and we spent quite a bit of time avoiding the heat.

I got back from my holidays last week. It was lovely and sunny in the bit of France we stayed in and we spent quite a bit of time avoiding the heat.

I heard about the soggy August East Devon has had and, now there’s a warmer spell, there are a few people who’ve said to me ‘The sun shines on the righteous’ - as if I might have some part in the state of the weather.

They’re only joking obviously, though it’s nice to be referred to as righteous!

Actually, the full quote of Jesus’ words from the Bible is: “For he (God) makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.”

Good and bad, dark and light, happiness and sadness comes to each one of us, no matter how good or bad we might feel we are.
