The Five Alive Mission Community

Some people I meet seem to think faith is just about themselves and their relationship with God. Jesus said that’s not the whole story – it has to be about your faith in God making a difference to how you live your life.

When asked what the most important commandment, Jesus gave a two part answer “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, strength and mind” and “Love your neighbour as yourself”.

In fact, he went even further and said that the second part of that was like the first – or, in other words, that in loving your neighbour (and yourself) you are doing the work of loving God.

If we claim to have faith, but don’t show that in the way that we act towards others and ourselves we aren’t fulfilling the commandment that Jesus put at the very heart of what it means to be faithful.
