Respect for those who serve.

I had a request a couple of weeks ago to consider taking the role of Chaplain to the Royal British Legion in Honiton and, with it, came a huge sense of privilege to be asked to serve an organisation and a group of people I have tremendous respect for.

So I said “yes”, and “thank you”!

I have said before, and probably will do again, that people of my age can’t imagine what previous generations went through to keep our freedoms – and most of us can’t imagine what our forces are going through now whilst trying to bring peace to different parts of our world.

We should continue to remember our Armed Forces in our prayers, whether we agree with the reasons for conflict or not, because they put themselves in harm’s way for our benefit and security, and in the hope of bringing peace to a broken world.
