Time to be with God.
When you read this I will probably be praying, reading or riding a motorbike. I am on retreat.
It’s been a while since I took a block of time to do this, though it’s something clergy are meant to do every year, and I’m looking forward to it.
Taking time for the sole purpose of being with God is not something any of us do very often, but ‘space for the spirit’ is as important as the space that we live and work and sleep in.
If I said that someone was my friend yet I never spoke to, visited or made time for them you’d wonder whether we were friends at all.
Our relationship with God is the same. If we never make time for him, never listen for His voice, never take note of what He’s saying then we really aren’t being His friends or followers at all.
