Take time out.

I spent a day today in a room of vicars, listening to speakers talk about Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Communion.

Now, for most of us, this wouldn’t be the best way to spend a day, but there were parts of the conference that were very worthwhile and gave much to think about.

More than anything else, it was the fact that I had to take the day out of my usual routine, away from the usual business, that made the whole thing worthwhile.

We so easily get stuck in ruts, feeling ground down by the drudge and routine. Sometimes, it takes a shock to make us think about what we are doing; sometimes just taking a bit of time out helps us gain perspective on the world. Give a bit of time to God, your friends, your family today. Or, if not today, later in the week. Just do it!
