EAST Devon District Council has admitted a technical blip led it to report that just 200 people signed a petition to save Simply Food, in Lace Walk.In fact, 2,000 people put their names to the campaign to stop Marks and Spencer from pulling out of Honiton.The store will close on March 5 and the district council has issued a statement to express its disappointment.Honiton Town Council supported the petition, started by M&S fan Audrey Cole.
