ALMOST 15,000 people turned out for the Axe Vale Festival over the weekend, which attracted a record number of 400 exhibitors.

ALMOST 15,000 people turned out for the Axe Vale Festival over the weekend, which attracted a record number of 400 exhibitors.

Highlights included The Hawkeye Falconry, Devon Dogs Display Team and live music by Steve Black and Friends, Arcadia Jazz and the Lympstone Band.

The floral marquee displayed prize- winning blooms and a special attraction, Spirit of the Community, by Axminster Chamber of Commerce showed what Axminster has to offer.

Festival chairman Ron Cross said: "It was a very good show and we had positive feedback from visitors and exhibitors, who said it was a friendly and professional show."
