A THREE-house supper in Lyme Regis raised around £1,000 for charity.

Guests ate hors d-oeuvres in Sherborne Lane, then supper in Broad Street, and returned to Sherborne Lane for a dessert buffet - in aid of the Burma Children's Fund.

The charity supports orphanages in the country and Htein Lin, a Burmese former political prisoner, spoke movingly about his experiences. He also showed his artwork, some of which were painted while he was in detention.

Organisers thanked volunteers, hosts and businesses that donated food.

They included: Alexandra Hotel, Good Food Store, Hix Oyster and Fish House, Largigi Café, Mad Hatters, Mill Tea and Dining Room, Royal Lion Hotel, Sotanos, Town Mill Bakery and Town Mill Cheesemonger.
