Three years and no action to improve Battishorne safety

Honiton Town Council is concerned that crossing plans for the rat run are taking too long to come to fruition.
Pedestrian safety along one of Honiton’s arterial roads is a concern for Honiton Town Council.
It fears plans to improve crossing areas along Battishorne Way are taking too long to come to fruition - more than three years, so far.
At a meeting of the Town Management Advisory Committee, it was reported that the preferred scheme would involve the installation of two vehicle activated speed signs and dropped kerbs at a cost of £6,200.
However, there is a funding shortfall of £2,200.
Two cheaper options have been considered, but councillors would prefer to achieve the full scheme.
The council is seeking advise from Devon County council on how to move the scheme forward.
