Fire crew called to free child trapped in her house at Axminster

Firefighters from Axminster had to rescue a toddler who locked herself in her house while her mum was outside yesterday (Thursday).

The woman was in the garden of her home at Willhayes Park when she realised what her 18-month-old daughter had done and called for help.

The fire crew attended the property at around 3pm and gained entry to the house using small tools.

The child was reunited with her grateful mother.
