DIY firm Toolstation has confirmed it will be opening a new branch in Honiton by the end of this year.

It was rumoured the company would be opening a new outlet in Honiton, as several positions had been advertised on well-known job sites.

A spokesman for the Toolstation said: “A branch will be opening in Honiton later this year.”

The company has remained tight-lipped on where its new store will be based, and how many jobs have been created.

It is believed the store will be based at Heathpark Industrial Estate, with unconfirmed rumours suggesting it will take up one-half of Unit 1A, in Reme Drive.

Last week, the Herald revealed an application had been submitted to East District Council, in which papers showed bakers Greggs had earmarked the other half of the unit for a new store.

Its previous occupiers, Real Wood Furniture, has now moved to one-half of Unit 2B.
