A-level students at Clyst Vale Community College are celebrating top results today.
Principal Kevin Bawn commented: "I'm delighted with this year's results, which are great news for everyone at Clyst Vale.
"The pass rate is up and the best for seven years, the proportion of A and B grades is up, 20% of all grades were As. All but 3 subjects had 100% pass rates.
"We were a pilot for the new AQA Baccalaureate, and all ten students entered passed, completing an additional A-level and 100 hours of enrichment activities on top of their studies. Our specialist subjects (Science and Maths) continue to do very well, with half of the Maths grades being As, and there were also top grades in English, humanities subjects, and creative subjects. This shows that there is high quality teaching and learning right across the curriculum, and if students put in the effort they will achieve well.

"Applications for September are also at record levels, so Clyst Vale's Sixth Form is thriving!"
"But A-level results day is much more about the individual students and their hopes and dreams; again this year, most have secured their first choice place at university. There have been some excellent results from our most able students, and by others who were never likely to gain A grades but who worked hard, realised their potential, and will be off to higher education. It is a great privilege to see these talented young people off to bigger and better things. I am very proud of all of Clyst Vale's students today, and the staff who have taught and supported them during their time here."
