Louise Yates tells pupils aout the importance of stories and imagination
Celebrated author and illustrator Louise Yates visited Marshwood Primary School to tell pupils how she became a published children’s writer.
Louise explained the importance of stories and imagination to the children, and shared some examples of her own drawings and writing from a very young age.
She then read one of her most famous works ‘Dog Loves Books’, before gathering ideas from the children about what Dog might love to do next.
Many of the children chose farming, and she then brought their suggestions to life, with a stunning illustration of Dog driving a tractor!
The children loved the visit, and before leaving Louise kindly donated signed copies of her various books, which the children are already enjoying in the school library.
