12-year-old is the first winner of the prestigious gold badge in more than a decade
The 1st Colyton scout group has its first gold award winner in more than a decade.
Twelve-year-old James Adams, from Honiton, earned the accolade by completing a number of creative, outdoor and fitness challenges.
The gold award is the top badge available to scouts and Kevin Taylor, leader of the 1st Colyton scout group, said he was very pleased that James had earned it.
He said: “The award requires a significant level of self commitment and hopefully this will help motivate other scouts to aim for it.”
