A SECRET ballot left Honiton's county councillors deselected by their own party.

A SECRET ballot left Honiton's county councillors deselected by their own party.Roger Boote and Barry Nicholson, who both sought to be re-elected to Devon County Council next May, will not now be the Tories' chosen candidates.Instead, Sara Randall Johnson has been selected to stand in St Michael's Ward and Paul Diviani has been selected to stand in the St Paul's division.Honiton and Tiverton Conservatives said in a statement: "The sitting county councillors, Barry Nicholson and Roger Boote, both re-applied for their current seats and a number of other candidates applied, as per the constitution of the Conservative Party."Following a secret ballot of paid-up party members, Councillor Sara Randall Johnson and Councillor Paul Diviani were selected."The president, Christine Marsh, thanked Barry Nicholson and Roger Boote for their hard work and dedication to the Conservative Party.Ms Randall Johnson is leader of East Devon District Council and Mr Diviani is currently the authority's chairman.
