Town crime figures continue to fall

Latest crime figures for Honiton released.

Crime figures in Honiton continue to show a downward trend.

PCSO Dave Keeler told Honiton Town Council that for the period of August 12 to September 9 the total number of recordable offences were 35 – compared to 41 recorded during the same period last year.

The meeting heard there were three burglaries, the properties being entered while the owners were away; one breach of an antisocial behaviour order; one sexual offence; and one making off without payment. PCSO Keeler told the meeting that four crimes had already been detected with the offender or offenders being charged. Two offences had been detected with the assistance of the town’s CCTV. Also included in the latest figures were seven assaults, four of which occurred in the home between individuals known to each other, eight thefts and seven incidents of criminal damage where vehicle wing mirrors and wipers were damaged.
