Some quick work by the new Light Up Axminster committee has ensured the town has some colourful Christmas illuminations this year.
Chairman Cindy Furse said: “I am really excited to be leading this new group.
“Whilst we haven’t had long to organise this year’s lights, we have managed to get trees above shops and have the wonderful trees donated both on the Minster Green and opposite Lemon Plaice. We would like to thank all of those that have supported us in this, from the businesses that have opted for trees above the shops, to those that have donated the large trees, and those that have helped install the trees, and offered advice.
“And the many, many offers of help from volunteers to get it all organised in time.
“We are very much looking forward to building relationships with businesses, community groups and, of course, the people of Axminster over the coming year.”
